Rue looked at all of the little kids, crying their poor eyes out. It broke her heart, even if she was on the same boat they were. She would be strong for them, as much as it killed her not having her parents here to love. "Hey, hey! It'll be okay, guys. Promise." That got them slightly quiet, but she also got bombarded by seven little five year olds, giving her a group hug. Of course, she needed it, but she had to hold back tears or breaking down for their sake.
She sat down on the group, so she was even more at their level, or even a little below it. "Guys, as long as I can breath, I'll get you your parents back. But, for now, we have to cope and get the kids of the town to cooperate with us, alright?"
Rue honestly had no idea what she was talking about; the children, teen or not, wouldn't listen to reason at the moment, even with a kid magically gone right before their eyes. She just wished Kade were here, or Max. They were the only two she really wanted to talk to at the moment, so she could plan or even cry or something. Kade had been her best friend since she had entered this world, so she knew she could trust him with anything, but Max was the only one who knew her secret, the one no one else knew.
Sighing softly, the blond stood up again, still only a little bit bigger than the kids. Rue smiled softly at them all, sniffling and drying their red and puffy eyes. "There we go. No harm done, right? Now, run along and...get some ice cream or do whatever it is you guys do." And with that, they reluctantly left her alone, to think and to wonder.
Rue sighed once more before going up to a statue and climbing onto it's back and clinging to it, wondering what had happened to the adults. Honestly, how does that happen?! Shouldn't they all be dead too?! She laid her head down on the stone, eyes narrowing lightly. Something was up; something worse than anyone could think of.

Aiden's steps made soft taps as he entered. Watching as the blond girl made her promises to young children. His feet came to a stop as he stood at the back of the hall, arms crossed. His mind still flashing back to the empty house he lived in. Once along with his parents. However that had ceased had he refused to show emotion, afraid to crush anyone. Including himself. He smiled a little as they all seemed to cling to her.
His eyes watched as they all were at her height since she sat. He wasn't really sure how long everything was just going to last like this. They had to be running out of stuff for the kids to have. Plus for anyone who had acctually enjoyed their parents being gone, most of the freedom and fun was just. Gone. It wasn't fun as had sounded when kids giggled and spoke of it all like it would be just peachy if such things would ever happen to them. Of course that was the past. Certainly that no longer stood true for many people, only a select few.
He only caught the last few words that came from the girl, as all the kids in group left the hall in a practical mob looking dazed. One looked up at him and stopped. He smiled sweetly to the child as a girl nearly walked into the soul.
Aiden's eyes went from the children to the ground, remembering the day he woke up to no one in his home, well other than himself that is. Soon he glanced upward from the ground to see the girl on top the statue. I don't think that's going to work much longer. Referring to what the girl had said previously.

Everything was so different. Kids crying on every corner, stores being broken into, things just in a general state of mayhem and forced anarchy. Kade shook his head. It just didn't work, anarchy. People had to be willing to go into that state, and even then it was shaky. Here, things were chaos. No one cared, and those that did didn't know what to do. He should have stayed at Monte Cristo. No. Rue was here, as was the TBA. They could bring things to order. Just a little force and everyone would come to their senses. The teen flinced as a storefront window exploded, revealing numerous kids that were too busy holding their stolen items to bother with the door. Shame. This place would take a lot of work to get back into shape.
He headed to the only place he figured would be undisturbed: City Hall. No one cared about it. It was just a big fancy building in the middle of town with statues infront of it. Maybe he would see Rue there... He had been missing his best friend. A year at Monte Cristo's had it's pros and cons, and one of those cons was not seeing anyone from Knox at all. Had Rue changed? Maybe she had grown? He laughed quietly to himself as he crossed a street, only to be cut short when a crazed teen careened into a sidewalk. He picked up a discarded bike and pedaled quickly to the main intersection. He knew he had changed, and for the better. He was in much better shape, with some obvious definition to go with it. Kade hadn't been blind to the girls that had given him the eye when he drove into town in that Eclipse. But, fun would come later. Rue came first.
As he neared, he passed a group of small children, their faces still red from crying, but smiling none the less. He finally made it up to the front of City Hall. No grafiti yet. The statues were still in place, too. And.. was that Rue? Kade smiled. So she was here. And.. some other guy too. A small twist came in his gut, but it vanished. He had been away for a year. That didn't mean Rue would replace him. Kade suddenly stopped, graced with an old yet always good idea. The blonde's back was to him. Carefully and silently he set the battered bike down and crept near his friend. He made it up so he was right behind her and the statue, and scarcely let out a breath. Suddenly he grabbed her around the waist and flung her into himself, all the while shouting "Hey Rue!" [/blockquote]

----His feet padded gently on the cool tiles, nothing missing in his step. His eyes were not cast down, or staring into space like most of his species at this point in time, but he glanced around comfortably at his surroundings, terrifying gray eyes cool and steady. There were many humans in this city who wore masks of loss and horror, but those gray eyes could strip you down to nothing. No, there was no despair in his eyes. It was the simple lack of...something. Some kind of unknown that couldn't be described or seen but only felt, a heavy, lurking presence following anyone who met his eyes. The heavy door of the City Hall slammed closed behind him (he had not slammed it, it was merely heavy) as he jumped agilely down off of the rather raised door jam. With a low sigh, he wiped his hands on his jeans before padding down the stairs, an unhidden confidence in his air. So, the world was in havoc. Big nuts. The world was already in havoc when the adults ruled it. At least kids had some sense. With a small smirk, he paused his steps and glanced back at the ancient building with something like satisfaction hinting at his eyes.
----The feral-appearing boy had already created his office (thanks mayor) in the city hall. Yes, it was early, but there had to be some kind of government in this era of horrid masks and tear-streaked faces. Two or three glimpses of empty houses behind the eyes of youths had been enough for Max. For him, they were all boring, pointless recollections. Moving down the stairs, his eyes scanned the scene before him, noting the boy sneaking up on the blond girl who sat on the statue, and the boy with black hair who Max didn't know. He didn't care either, really, but once the sneaking boy grabbed on to the blond, she turned and he instantly recognized that face. How could he not? It was burned into the back of his eyes, haunting him whenever his mind drifted. But you couldn't not like Rue, apparently. As this boy held her, still, Max sighed knowing he would have to break it up, obviously being the oldest (and probably most authoritative, but Max was not one to brag), and so he jumped the res of the stairs, about three or four, casually before walking up to Rue.
----Gently taking her shoulders, he pried her out of the sneaking boy's grip and gave him a half-scornful look before looking down at Rue, a smirk playing at his lips. "I leave you for two minutes and you're already in trouble. Are you okay?" He asked, something like concern showing itself only to her. He gave a low chuckle before taking one hand off of Rue's shoulder and sticking the thumb in his pocket, watching the blond with a curl of his lip that could only be a smile. He did not offer his name to either the sneaking boy or the black-haired kid, but really they should ask him. After all, he was the future leader of this society. That was, until he turned twenty. The mystery of Jimmy Hultz had struck fear into the hearts of most of the children on this earth, except for Max. Really, he looked forward to it. True, he would lose Rue, and he would miss his throne of power, but it seemed a welcome relief after the chaos that was his life. If Rue was still near him, he pulled her close in a half-hug, using one arm wound around her waist. This time, it was for her comfort.

Rue turned her head to look at the voice that spoken up, scaring her slightly. "They're too young and innocent to know the truth." She had no idea who this kid was, but he seemed to actually be decent, but you never could tell with the kids now a days. Without police or any form of government, a girl could get easily raped and nothing would be done about it, so she had to be on her toes. Before she had time to blink, someone's arm was going around her wait and pulling her off the statue, her hands trying to clasp onto it but failing miserably. RAPE. RAPE. RAPE.
She wanted to move, wanted to fight back but she was frozen with what could only be known to her as fear; yes, she was rather jumpy now. Lawlessness could do that to a person. She turned her head to look at the boy, and he seemed familiar, but she couldn't put her finger on it, and thus, he was a stranger. Max was just inside, he could help right? "Maxxxxx!" Right about the time she had said that, someone pried her out of the strange boy's grasp and she looked up at him. Well, there would be no gang rape today, that was fur sure. Rue instantly wrapped her arms around him and laid her head on his side, breathing quickly.
"Yeah. I'm...fine." Rue looked over at the odd boy, eyes narrowing lightly, still trying to figure out who he was. Why did Kade have to leave her here? He would have helped her beat the crap out of this kid, though he would be doing most of the beating. Rue never enjoyed violence, only because it scared her silly. That was when it hit her; what if...."K-Kade? Is that you?" Max's arm went around her waist and pulled her even closer to him, and for a moment, she looked up at him and then back to the boy who had grabbed her before. Who was it?
And then, she remembered there was another boy there and she instantly looked over towards him. "Hi. I'm...Rue." She knew it might seem a little bit odd to be introducing one's self so calmly after freaking out only moments before, but Rue got over things a bit quicker than most people. Plus, with someone she actually knew was near, she felt like nothing bad could happen. Such a dreamer, she.

[Ooc: Posted.]
He looked up to her as her voice carried over to him. The statement was slightly true. He must've shocked her slightly judging by her tone. His eyes left for a moment not speaking. As a boy who had so quietly appeared drug her off the statue. What the? He shook his head a little as he seemed to have scared her.
Aiden looked up as she yelled across the room to a dude who had just walked in and seemed to not notice anything but the fact that she was being pulled off the statue. His eyes only stayed glued as the whole scene was a bit much to comprehend. Aiden finally managed to grasp it all in a moments time.
He scratched his head after it all had sunk in. Apparently they all must've known each other from somewhere or another. Of course he had no idea who any of them were really, which seemed common for him because, well He couldn't hardly tell you who he'd met in the past week. Aiden looked up as the girl spoke listening as she introduced herself. Which reminded Aiden it was common sense for him to tell her who he was. "I'm Aiden." He said with a smile as he backed off the wall he had been leaning against.

Kade grinned for a moment as he carried Rue off the statue, which was much easier than before he had left. As her slight weight was transfered to his arms, she let out a yell for Max. Max. Where did that sound familiar from? When he thought about it, the feeling that came forward the strongest was dislike. Well, he was always one for second chances. But, as his best friend was pulled from his grasp and he watched her cling to the guy's side, he felt the stirrings of that dislike again. When Max's comment came out, the feeling flamed up to it's old fevor. Who did he think he was? Orso crossed his arms, annoyed. But that feeling disappeared when his blonde best friend turned and recognized him. Screw Max. He had Rue.
Kade grinned, a white smile that contrasted with his now tan skin. "You know it!" He glanced at Max, wondering what to do about the older guy. But he directed his attention back to Rue after an acknowledging nod to Aiden. For all he knew, he could be a new member of the TBA. "How's it goin, Rue? It's been awhile." He laughed. "Too long, I thought. Sorry about scarin' ya." He grinned. "But the opportunity presented itself, and I couldn't help it." Suddenly, he decided to play it stupid. "Who's your friend? Max, is it?" He held out his hand. "Kade Jackson Orso, recently back from Monte Cristo, leader of the TBA, and best friend of Rue." He tried not to take in a deep breath after saying that, breathing slowly to recover from saying all of that in one breath. [/blockquote]
